I don't have enough time for a puppy, nor should I plan on getting one since the spontaneity of my early twenties may lead me to move around some. But man. I want a French Bulldog so badly. I'd name it Chippy. Or Dogmeat. Or Spudge. *whimper*

Utilizing the gentle dichotomy between the nostalgic and the carnivorous, Nicolas Lampert makes viewers look twice in his collection of collages he's classified as 'Meatscapes'. A fan of over-sized meat in public spaces (see his 'Attention Chicken!' installations), Lampert creates visual mash-ups of landscapes and what seems to be large portions of meat sampled from vintage food ads. The result is an almost seamless composition that may cause you to cringe, but in a meaty sort of way.
Book: Show us a book you've read more than once.
A friend of mine recently looked back on them and was surprised to find that the books were a lot more simple than she initially remembered. Simple or not, I highly recommend this series for the young ones. As mikepop and I have been discussing the books are vividly descriptive and fun, mikepop even pointing out that it reminded him "of an early-generation text adventure in that he filled his backpack with an odd assortment of things (chewing gum, lollipops, rubber bands, boots, compass, toothbrush, compass, six magnifying glasses, hair ribbons, and so on), then used each of those items in turn (none left over!) to solve puzzles in the story".
And who doesn't want to follow a young boy who eats fig newtons and tangerines on his fantastic adventure into the jungle?
EDIT: mikepop posted this lovely illustration from My Father's Dragon, to give you all an idea of what sort of lovely scenes took place in this book:

I've managed to do quite a fair share of bragging about my extremely talented friend Rich (or rg) and his bit-tastic pixel art and games, but a little more ego boosting wouldn't hurt (would it, Rich?). Rich is a great friend of mine and a perpetually creative person. When he's not working on his incredibly exciting upcoming games, he's always thinking of new ideas and constantly creating something. I envy his motivation and dedication to his work and only wish I had half the drive he has. Check his personal site for galleries of his work, awesome burning man photography, and more special goodies. Here are some of my personal favorites of his though:
