I've been a dinky camera enthusiast for a solid eight years, and while I've been fine with making the very best of crappy macro modes and minuscule mega pixels, I think it's about time for an upgrade. Thus, I've decided to pull together some of my savings and purchase one of those fancy photo-taking devices, like this alleged Nikon D40 everyone's been talking about. No really, everyone's been talking about it. So I'll probably get one of those... unless somebody wants to convince me otherwise.
What do you say, neighbors? Hurray! I need to purchase one before my giant trip to NYC!
Today Kat and I rode our bikes up through Golden Gate Park and happened upon a Six Apart company BBQ! By the time we got there, the kickball game was halfway through and most of the eatables were eaten, so naturally we gravitated towards cute dogs and bounce houses for entertainment. Fun, sun, and bouncing was had.
I had yet to test out Adobe Lightroom, a gift from my friend Zach, so when I returned home with a few colorful shots from the BBQ I decided to try it out. Like most adobe products, the software does wonders! My tinny cybershot photos turned out much more robust in color and clarity after a run through Lightroom. My favorite shot is the above photo of Rudy, but feel free to check out the rest of the set on my flickr.
Encountered this fascinating thread of photos via aaronrutledge.com. If anyone has any idea where this series came from, please let me know! A few of my favorites are shown below:
Edit: The photographs are by a Korean photographer named Yeondoo Jung, who's works can be found either here or here. Thank you everyone in the comments for your help!
In the era of digital cameras (and in the case where one '.tiff' seems to break/loose/destroy/malfunction any digicam she gets her paws on) two packs of developed box camera pictures from the local 1-hour photo can actually be quite refreshing. There is a certain aura of candidness about them that digital photos lack, regardless of whether the pictures are posed or spontaneous. It seems that the local Rite Aid also used 'digital technology' to 'enhance' the photos that I refused to use flash on. This left the few of them oddly pixelated and grainy, but with an eerily enjoyable aftermath.
I bought two cameras after I got back from spring break and had the joy of exposing them between my house mates, Chico, and I early this afternoon. There were some convocation photos, some 'display o' sauce's and some other nice photos too.
