Since first meeting Dan and off-handedly insulting his Castle Crasher figurines for including what I thought was a pizzacutter (which actually turned out to be a mace), we have become pretty close friends. This is demonstrated by the fact that we're top friends (on Myspace, of COURSE), but also from the one time we were chilling in the Hyatt hotel lobby during GDC and a drunk passerby asked if we were married. Hence the title: Top Friends with Marriage (we are not actually married, silly).

Dan means a lot more to me than MySpace or fake marriages, however, and a few months ago when he and the rest of The Behemoth team were up here for GDC and Wondercon, we hung out a lot and drew pictures together, one of which is displayed above. To commemorate our long-distant, convention-fueled friendship, I decided to turn this drawing into the following plush duo:

Like friendship lockets (only not nearly as archaic), I will keep the large monster for myself while he will keep the smaller one. Both guys were hand sewn using fleece for the body parts and felt as the details. My next project? Still working on Tako King for my friend Hamza... should be a tricky one.

Only a quick glance for now. I'm sure I'll have more to say about the entire experience when I'm not getting ready to head off to my Grandfather's epic 94th birthday party. In the meantime, here are a few shots I just grabbed while surfing through the ultra packed Wondercon:

*ahem* So even though Charlie is having the time of his life using his fancy camera to capture scenes of Tofu kids fighting a Castle Crasher, I ALSO got a Castle Crasher figure from PAX.  But mine is win because the box is signed by the artist of Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers himself, the very talented Dan Paladin.

In addition to the Castle Crasher's figure, Charlie made me a little tiny Goomba head and Phist gave me a blond wigged Afro Ken plush.  From the Pink Godzilla booth at PAX I also managed to pick up the tiny Luigi plush, along with a Boo key dongle (not shown).  Awesome.  Furthermore, my awesome friend rg was amidst moving and sent me some of his old toys that he couldn't take along.  This includes an incredible plush Donkey Kong doll from 1982 that can actually put its hands together so you can hang him on stuff.

So much WIN.
