It's been a rare and recent exception that I've reveled in music that features a female vocalist. Maybe I've been largely impacted by the age when I began to craft my standards, an era of female cohorts warbling out Alanis Morisette, Spice Girls, and Aqua's Barbie Girl while I sat disoriented and lost in a sea of Big Willie Styles. One way or another, I'll proudly exclaim that my tastes have improved given the gracious recommendations of friends and with that I'm excited to say that The Bird and The Bee, the artists responsible for Polite Dance Song, are excellent and worth picking up.

So that's why I'm trying to figure out how she can drop the F-Bomb so smoothly it's like a harp solo.
She commits her f-bombs with taste and delicacy, and when it happens it suddenly boosts what would otherwise be a seemingly passive request into a powerful demand. I love it.
I f_ckin love it (the song).
Im usually against most female vocalists.
But what about Portishead, Zero 7, and Morcheeba?
If you like Zero 7, you might want to check out Sia's "Colour the Small One" same vocalist (Sia Furler). Who is a crazy good-vibe entertertainer, by the way :)
I have also been kinda digging Silversun Pickups and Earlimart recently. A little more emoey than your provided music, though.
I'll try to upload the song "Chick Singers" by Dan Bern tonight so you can have a reference list of people to explore :)
Thanks everyone for the myriad of Fem-voiced musical options I have to explore! Joy! Rapture!
They remind me of a slightly-less-melodic, less etheral, more concerned with material goods version of Imogen Heap.
Yes, I ascribe far too many adjectives to musicians.
