The tv series is a hoot!

Adds Logan's Run to his to do list. I'm really due for a futuristic Utopian society as seen by the '70s. If you ever get the chance, check out the original Rollerball. At a party they blow up fir trees with a lazer gun.

i thought he was some sort of guard put on that tunnel exit thingy to freeze would-be escapees (or something)

if you haven't seen it, may i recommend Zardoz as a follow-up?
He's definitely one of those, but it seems as though Box is supposed to embody something altogether more...pivotal as Logan and Jessica escape into the real world. I'm curious actually as to how he's portrayed in the book the film was based off of.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'll have to check it out.
i see what you mean - i didn't realize you were speaking symbologically.

i don't know much about the book, other than that the age for carousel was 18, not 30...
Symbolically or physically I think Box in the film is pretty ridiculous :D.

I read on wikipedia that there were a few differences between the film and the book, but I could see reading about a character such as Box in the book could be portrayed in a much more metaphysical sense than how he was conveyed in the film. I'll have to look into this..

what's more metaphysical than a tinfoil boxagon robot with That Voice?

dammit, yr gonna make me go read logan's run...
Book Club!!!
A bit of topic, but I thought I would mention that Logan's Run was filmed at the Water Gardens in Fort Worth.

With regards to Box, in 1976, when Logan's Run was released, Disco Music was hot and there was already a backlash from the Rock music crowd. Could it be that Box with his Disco like mirrors was actually designed to symbolize the apocalyptic end to which Disco music could take us if left unchecked?

*_* Good theory, Rockin'. I can dig it.
