Show us a book that scared you as a child.
I was a pretty big wimp when I was little, certainly not the kind of child that reveled in getting creeped out by scary stories. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was a relatively popular series of scary stories when I was younger, and I remember always seeing this horrifying cover on the library table top at any given point in time. It freaked the crap out of me so much that I didn't even dare to page through the actual book until a few years ago. The illustrations inside are equally as creepy, but at least now I can go to sleep assured that they won't come out and get me.

i love you for posting this. i have been trying to figure out the name of these books for years. i remember the one about the girls who has spiders growing in her ear... or is it her hair? i don't remember. but yeh... i was terrified of these books when i was little too.
